Proverbs 24:6  For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.  Some may not realize that when a person trusts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior a battle ensues.
We are not entering a picnic area when we get saved but rather a battlefield!  We have three major enemies, the world, the devil,  and the flesh.  In our own strength we are helpless in this battle.  We need wisdom,  the kind that comes from above.  Many times that wisdom will come through the counsel of other Godly individuals that can help us safely navigate the pitfalls on the battlefield.  We are instructed to put on the WHOLE ARMOUR of God.   We are engaged in a spiritual battle. The adversaries are many and they are very real.  The armour is sevenfold.  The first part is the helmet of salvation,  the last being prayer.  In the middle of the list there are two very important,  yet often neglected pieces of armour.  The shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit.  Both referencing the importance of the Word of God.
When Satan tried to take Jesus off the battlefield,  Jesus replied all three times… IT IS WRTTEN!  Don’t you think you and I would be wise to look to God’s book for wisdom and instruction in dealing with the enemy?  Jesus did!  We are more than conquerors through Him that loved and still loves us!
Once in a while God’s dear people will lose a battle.  Don’t dismay!  Get up!  Stand up!  Get back on the battlefield!  Why?
Because I promise God’s people this, though at times we may lose a battle, in the end, we win the war!  Amen!  Pastor
