Ask, Seek, Knock… Pt 2

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Today we take up the word seek in our text.  I’m reminded of this text in Luke 15:8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?  Notice the words seek and diligently.   When we approach God in prayer are we asking in faith?  Are we diligently seeking an answer?  In Luke 15 there are lost sheep,  as well as lost silver, and lastly, a lost son.  All of these parables are in response to how the Lord receives sinners, and eats with them!  Ain’t you glad He does?
What if we diligently sought our Lords face for the salvation of our friends and loved ones?  Asking and seeking diligently is what’s needed today!  Brothers and sisters, it is time to seek the Lord!  We need a strring in these days.  Hearts are hard and the love of many has waxed cold.  May God help us as His people to draw nigh to Him and seek the Lord while He may be found.  Our country is in a mess.  I remind you of this passage… 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Sinners are what they always have been,  but I’m afraid the altar in our lives is not what it used to be, and not what it should be.  Let’s ask and seek!  Glory to God we’ll find Jesus, the same yesterday, and today,  and forever.
Seek Him, call ye upon Him… He is near!   Amen.  Pastor
