Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
Please read Mark 12:18-27
In this portion of scripture our Lord is being questioned by the Saducees concerning marriage relationships in the resurrection. Now get this, the Saducees did not even believe in the resurrection! I heard a preacher say years ago… that’s very SAD YOU SEE! They were still trying to trip up Jesus. Notice with me please… in Verse 24 Jesus said… Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? When an individual or sect of people such as the Saducees depart from the teachings of God’s word it will always end in error.
God’s dear children will sorrow at the graveside of our loved ones, but… not as others which have no hope! When we go to the cemetery with those who have died, if they have put their faith in Jesus, we know they are absent from the body, and present with the Lord. We also know that according to God’s word we will meet them again in the resurrection! Jesus is coming, the saints of God are going… how do you know that pastor? Because God said so in the Bible and God cannot lie!
Hebrews 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. When He comes, I’m going! Will you go with me? Look up! Today could be the day the trumpet sounds and we make our way to our real home! Jesus went to prepare a place for us and HE WILL COME AGAIN and receive us unto Himself! His word is truth! To disregard the truth of the resurrection truly is a grave error. Amen. Pastor
