The Power of Persuasion…

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  There is power in being persuaded that our salvation in Christ is secure.  When an individual lives their life in fear, wondering if they will make it to Heaven, the focus of their attention is always on themselves instead of others.  Paul lived his life being fully persuaded of his relationship with God, knowing nothing could separate him from the love of God!  Therefore he was able to focus on ministering to others. Where does this kind of persuasion come from?  It comes from simply taking God at His word. We must believe the promises of God!  That’s exactly what Abraham did. Notice…Romans 4:21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  Jesus said “I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish.”
That’s a promise!  Remember this, God cannot lie!  There is great peace in the life of the Christian who is persuaded that their soul has been committed to the Lord for safe keeping.
Consider… 2 Timothy 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  There is power in knowing He is able to keep us.
Many are paralyzed by doubt and fear.  That’s exactly where the devil wants them, because he knows if he can keep them focused on themselves they will not be reaching others.  Are you like King Agrippa, almost persuaded, or like Abraham,  fully persuaded?  There is a huge difference.   May God help us to be fully persuaded, that we might live our lives pointing others to our dear Savior.  Amen.  Pastor
