Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Today
I want to concentrate on Godly counsel. It has been said… If you ask enough people the same question, someone will give you the answer you want to hear. Being blessed is not about seeking answers from men, but rather from the Lord.
There are two kinds of counsel in the world, the counsel of the ungodly, and the counsel of the Godly. The counsel of the Godly is ALWAYS rooted in God’s word! People can deceive you, your own heart can deceive you, but the dear Lord Jesus will never deceive you! The individual who wants to be blessed must turn to the source of all blessings. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
The blessings are rooted in the scripture. Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Any counsel that is rooted in the scripture is Godly counsel. No matter how good the counsel may sound, if it contradicts scripture it is ungodly! Some say follow your heart. If we want to be blessed we must follow our head. Not the head on our shoulders, but the head of the body of Christ, the Lord Jesus. Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. Seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness! Who wants to be blessed? I do. What about you? Amen. Pastor
