Redeemed!…

Psalm 34:22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Here’s a good definition of redeemed… To rescue and deliver from the bondage of sin and the penalties of God’s violated law, by obedience and suffering in the place of the sinner.  This is exactly what Jesus has accomplished for us!  It is so wonderful to be among the redeemed!  To know that our sin is forgiven,  and we are no longer sold under sin.  To know that we are loved and will never be forsaken.   To know that the grave is not our final resting place.  To know that we will see our loved ones and friends who have died in the Lord.  To know that one day we will bow before our Saviour,  proclaiming worthy is the Lamb that was slain!  This redemption is only THROUGH HIS BLOOD!  No wonder Peter tells us it is precious blood.  Redeemed… to deliver by paying a price.  The price of our redemption is Calvary!  Salvation is a free gift offered to every sinner.  Because it is free to you and me, does not mean it is cheap!
It cost God His Son, it cost Jesus His life.  He died a cruel death so you and I can live forever among the redeemed!
Redeemed—how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the lamb, redeemed through His infinite mercy, his child and forever I am!   Today, let’s stop for a moment and thank God we are no longer slaves to sin.  The Son has made us free!  Free to serve Him.  God help us to… Get up!  Get at it!  And proclaim this eternal redemption to others who are still bound by sin.  Amen.  Pastor
