The Pillar of Truth…

1 Timothy 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Pillar in Websters 1828… Supporter: Something that sustains or upholds  “Pillars of society”  In a world where so many building blocks in our society are crumbling, it is good to know there is one pillar that has always stood firm, that is standing firm, and will forever stand firm, that is God’s truth!
Jesus said, Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth!  The church is to be a place where the truth is proclaimed.   It is the truth that still stands in a sin ridden society.  Sometimes in life we are faced with situations that
absolutely knock the props out from under us.  It’s wonderful to know that there’s a place where we can find support,  a pillar if you please.  It is the church of the living God!  Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  God’s people
need the house of God.  When we hear and heed the truth of God’s word, we are able to be a pillar in a crumbling society.  On many construction sites, one can see huge pillars supporting the bridge or the building above.  What we don’t see is that part of the pillar that is embedded far beneath the earths surface.  This world doesn’t know it, but the reason we stand, the reason we serve, is because we are rooted and grounded IN HIM!  Below the surface of what you see in the church is a SOLID FOUNDATION!  His name is Jesus!  So let’s keep on singing the old hymns, keep on preaching the old book, for this old world may not know it, but the Lord’s Church  is still the pillar and ground of the truth!
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  Lord, help us Bibleway to always stand for truth, that the truth will continue to set men free. Amen.  Pastor
