Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
The church as most people think of it is a building. The church as God sees it is a body. The blood washed saints of God make up the church. God has instructed those who truly know him to gather together.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
We gather to worship, to encourage one another, and because God tells us to gather! The scripture declares we are not our own, we’ve been bought with a price. That price reveals the value that God puts on the church. I wonder, how do we value the church? The Church today is looked on by many as take it or leave it. Knowing the price that Jesus paid on Calvary for His church should motivate God’s people to make the church a priority. Don’t you think if God loved the church enough to give His Son for it, that it deserves our attention, commitment, and love. I love the church! Why? Because the Lord put His love in my heart!
The church is God’s purchased possession! The church is God’s prized possession! The church is God’s powerful possession! The church is God’s pure possession! He purchased the church with His own blood. That precious blood is the only purifying agent that will grant access into God’s Heaven! It is God’s heart that gives you and me great hope! After all, the day is approaching!
Amen! Pastor
