1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: The promise of Jesus’s return should have an effect on His children. It should create an air of excitement in our lives. When I was a little boy my aunt and uncle would visit often. They could not have children so they loved visiting with my family of eight! My uncle always had “man toys” to play with. A model airplane that flew remotely, a 22 rifle, fishing gear, bow and arrow and such. These were things that a little boy absolutely loved! Needless to say when I found out they were coming, I was excited! You never knew what my uncle was gonna bring! We know that Jesus is gonna bring with Him all them who have died in the Lord. Can you imagine the reunion? The thrill of seeing our friends and loved ones! The thrill of meeting in person the one who gave His life on the cross so we could have a home in heaven! What a day, glorious day, that will be! Not only should there be an excitement concerning our Lord’s return, but His return should also move us to live for Him. God desires that we be clean vessels of honor, meet for the Master’s use. 1 John 3 2-3 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Oh, to be like Jesus! Especially as we anticipate His soon return!
Let’s love the Lord Jesus, live for Jesus, and look for His return today! Amen. Pastor
