Psalm 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
Reverend: to fear, be afraid, to stand in awe of,  reverence, honour, respect.  The scripture tells us the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.   Many times in our society the word reverend has been used in reference to a pastor or a preacher.  The only time this word reverend is used in our Bible it refers to our Lord and Saviour.  1 Peter tells us… in chapter 1 vs 14-17. As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.  And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.  Holy and reverend is His name.  May we always remember this truth.  May we always honor the truth giver.   The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  He sent redemption,  the least we could do is honor Him!  Amen.  Pastor
