2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. There are three changes we will look at in the life of the born again believer today. The first change is INTERNAL. When a person realizes they are guilty of sin and then turn from that sin to the Savior for mercy and forgiveness, a change takes place internally. That individual now enjoys a newfound peace. There is a sense of being cleansed on the inside. The guilt is gone and there’s an assurance that comes from that
internal change. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature!
Then there is a change that is EXTERNAL. Having believed on the Lord Jesus, the child of God now begins to reflect the change in their heart in the way that they live. Our light begins to shine, and others begin to see the change in our life. In our salvation experience WE HAVE BEEN CHANGED, in our daily walk with God, WE ARE BEING CHANGED. Salvation first, followed next by sanctification. In our text above we find in this external change we are being made more like Jesus. The words in this song describe this phase of the Christian life… He’s still working on me, To make me what I need to be, It took him just a week to make the moon and stars, The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars, How loving and patient He must be, ‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me! Finally, there a change that is ETERNAL.
Consider please… 1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
We have been changed, we are being changed, and we shall be changed! Salvation first, followed by sanctification, and finally ending in glorification! One day, every person who has repented of sin and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, will be LIKE HIM! Bless His Name! I shall be satisfied, when I awake in His likeness!
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. I’ll be perfect just according to his plan, fashioned by the masters loving hand! Jesus is coming. Have you been changed? Are you being changed? Then you shall be changed! Amen. Pastor
