Contents under Pressure …   Part 3…

2 Corinthians 1:8  For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:  Years ago I was reading the label on an airasol can.  It read, CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE.   It was a warning to be careful how the can was handled or it might explode! In this 3rd part of this series of devotions, let’s consider the Apostle Paul in Acts 27 as he finds himself in a bad storm, a very pressing situation. You’ll need to read the chapter to fully digest today’s devotion.  In verse 21, we find these words…Step 1… after long abstinence.   Paul got away from the sailors, away from the situation, and got his heart and mind focused on the Savior!  Step 2… in verse 22, he proclaimed the message that God had conveyed to him!  Be of good cheer, seems like a pretty foolish thing to say in the midst of a violent storm!… unless the Lord sent the message!  Step 3… in verse 25… Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
Paul didn’t just hear from the Lord. He didn’t just speak for the Lord. He believed the Lord!
When we’re pressed out of measure, it is imperative to get alone with God, hear what he says, share what he says, and believe what he says.  Waves of trouble may be over our head, but guess what… WE’RE GONNA MAKE IT! I’ve read the last verse in the last chapter…
GOD’S DEAR PEOPLE WIN! Lord help us to get our eyes off the  storm and see Him, who is invisible.   Thats how Moses endured. That’s how Paul made it. Help us to do the same. Amen.  Pastor
