1 Corinthians 11:1  Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.  Years ago Honda had a commercial jingle that said- “Follow the leader,  he’s on a Honda.”  Our text today was written by the Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth.  It was in Pauls heart to so follow the Lord that others could follow him.  Thinking about Paul’s statement and the Honda jingle I came up with this- Follow the leader, he’s following the Lord!  Some would say I’m not going to follow a man.  Every one of God’s people need Godly influences in their life.  We also need to follow the Lord that we might lead others in the path of life that is pleasing to Him.  How will we know whether or not someone is following the Lord.
We must come to that conclusion through scripture.  One could say, follow the leader, he follows the Bible!  In  choosing our friends as Christians it is important to choose friendships that will help us grow closer to one another as well as our Savior.
If others were to follow you, would they be getting closer to the Lord.  Our hearts desire should be like Paul’s, to be a follower of Jesus, so that others can safely follow us here, and eventually follow us home!  Amen.  Pastor
