Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, I may not be able, but my Lord is able! I saw a book title years ago, it read… The Atheism of Prayerlessness. The reason we don’t pray as we should is because we dont believe like we should! Consider… 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: What is the absolute biggest thing we could ask God for? Something that would make a difference in eternity? Here’s what I’m thinking… THE SALVATION OF SOMEONES SOUL! When we are praying for the lost, we can rest assured we are praying in God’s will. It is not God’s will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Last evening, three teams of two men each went out on visitation. I had requested prayer before we left the church for a lost man who is 87 years old. Myself and another man went to see him. This was my third encounter with this precious soul. Now, here’s the best part, while we were going, another team pulled off in a nearby church parking lot to pray for this man. One team is going, and another team is praying…
Guess what? This man said yes to the master! Don’t be afraid to ask God for BIG THINGS! He’s a BIG GOD and is able to do even more than we ask or even think! Who are you praying for? Are you putting legs on your prayers and trusting the Lord to help you accomplish great things for His glory? Let’s not be a Christian who fails to believe God. In order to please Him, we must believe Him! Amen. Pastor
