Romans 4:21  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.  This verse is pertaining to Abraham and his son Isaac.  When Abraham raised the knife to take the life of his son, he knew God was able to raise him even from the dead.  There was a time when a man’s word was his bond.  You could make a deal with someone and you didn’t need a lawyer or a contract.  Today, politicians tell us all kinds of things they will do on day one.  With some, decades later we’re still waiting!
You never have to worry about that with the Lord.  When He makes a promise you can count on it!  2 Corinthians 1:20  For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.  And then…2 Peter 1:4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  Nothing honors God more than faith.  Faith is simply taking God at His word.  Are you standing on the promises of God?  I’m afraid too many of God’s people are just sitting on the premises,  rather than standing on the promises!  God said it, it is to our advantage to believe it!  Amen.  Pastor
