The Law of Moses verses the Law of Jesus…

Matthew 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; …  22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:  Have you ever heard someone say something like this… We’re not under the law. We’re under grace.  Many times, this statement is made in an effort to excuse loose living. There is a major difference noted concerning Old Testament saints and New Testament saints.  In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit would come upon an individual and empower him to do God’s will and then at times depart.   In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit will never leave nor forsake the believer.   Hence,  our Lord requires more from us!
Moses…  thou shalt not kill.  Jesus…  Don’t be angry without a cause!  The motive is just as important to Jesus as the act.  It is incumbent upon the believer to walk in the Spirit.  That is the only way we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  We certainly can live in victory,  but not apart from the Holy Spirit’s
help!  Lean on Him.   Learn of Him.  Love in Him!  This is the recipe for a wonderfully blessed life! Amen.  Pastor
