The Old Cross vs the New…

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
A.W. Tozer writes… “The old cross slew men; the new cross entertains them. The old cross condemned; the new cross amuses. The old cross destroyed confidence in the flesh; the new cross encourages it.”  The Apostle Paul  knew the real value of the cross to the Christian.   It was so much more than a trinket or a piece of jewelry.   It was and is the cross of Christ that separates God’s people from the world.  It is the cross of Christ that motivates God’s people to reach the world.  It is the cross of Christ where men get prepared to leave this world.  Galatians 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  The song says- “Thanks to Calvary I am not the man I used to be, thanks to Calvary, things are different than before, as the tears flow down my face I try to tell it, Thanks to Calvary,  I don’t live here anymore.”  Christ in you, Christ in me, this is our only hope of Glory!  Amen.  Pastor
