Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  Paul knew it was the gospel that had the power to change lives… because the message of Christ had revolutionized his own life.
What is the gospel? I dare say many who go to church every Sunday would be hard pressed to answer accurately.   Here’s the scriptural definition… Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel …
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:  These words are found in 1 Corinthians 15.   The best news anyone could hear or any believer could share is that though we had the sentence of death in ourselves, Jesus took our place on the cross of Calvary!  Theres a couple major differences between Christianity and all the other religions of the world.  First, OUR FOUNDER IS NOT DEAD! He arose on the third day!  Secondly, the religions of the world promote a works based salvation.   Do, do, do, and you might make it to heaven.  Christianity says DONE! Not DO!
Jesus cried from the cross… IT IS FINISHED.  The power of the gospel is found in the finished work of Calvary and an empty tomb.  He’s alive!  Does He live in you.  If he does, there’s a desire to serve Him, not in order to merit Heaven, but because by His grace, you are going. Amen. Pastor
