Worship while you Work..

Ephesians 6:7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:  Very important… get your Bible and read Eph 6:5-9.  Our devotion will come from these verses today.  It’s Monday!  Many will head off to work with the Monday morning blues.  For God’s children, it ought not be this way!  Let’s examine a few things in these verses that will help us in the workplace.  Before we begin… Have you thanked the Lord for your Job?  For your health that enables you to work? Have you prayed for your boss and coworkers?  That alone would change the workplace!  In verse 5 we are instructed to be obedient and see our work as being performed AS UNTO CHRIST.  Someone says… who do you work for… I work for the Lord!  You might think, of course,  you are a pastor.  It doesn’t matter where you work,  if you see your work as unto the Lord it will change your perspective.  Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men.  Verse 6 is interesting.  Many in the workplace are only concerned with what the boss sees. Eye service,  men pleasers.  If we are to develop an attitude of worship in the workplace we must realize our Savior is looking past our performance on the job, He’s looking at our heart.  Doing the will of God from the heart!  As we work we should  be thinking and thanking.   Lord, thank you for these hands, these feet, these eyes.  Thank you for the knowledge you have blessed me with to do this job.  When we approach our work in this fashion it will become more than duty, it will be a delight!
Instead of saying I have to go to work,  you can say I get to go to work!  Some endeavor to separate the secular job from their spiritual responsibility.   That’s a mistake.  In everything give thanks! Do all to the glory of God!  When you do, you’ll find yourself worshipping while you work!  Amen.  Pastor
