1 Peter 3:14  But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.  On September 11th 2001 America came under the worst terror attack we have ever faced as a nation, 2,977 people lost their lives that day.  I remember well where I was.  My son and I were working at a Christian School.  When we heard of the attacks we were not afraid, but we did drop to our knees and pray for our country and it’s leaders.  There are those in the world that are sincere in their beliefs that their god is pleased with killing what they call infidels.  It is entirely possible to be sincerely wrong!  May we be reminded that Saul of Tarsus was sincere.  He thought he was doing God’s will in killing the Christian’s.   There was no man that would be able to change his mind.  But God,  who is rich in mercy, met him on the road to Damascus and changed him completely!   We will never be able to change the minds of the terrorists,  but we can talk to the one who can!  We can also stand with confidence and not be afraid of their terror.  After all, for those who know Jesus in the free pardon of sin, death is just the gateway into His presence.   To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!  Guess who told us that?  It was the Apostle Paul, a man who  used to be a terrorist!  By God’s grace he was forgiven,  and preached the Gospel of Christ the remainder of his life!  Is the faith you possess good enough to live by?  The real question is, is that same faith good enough to die by?  If so, be not afraid of their terror!  Amen.
