1 Samuel 17:29  And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?  David was sent by his father, Jesse, to take supplies and check on his brethren in the battle.  When David arrived, he was met with ridicule by his eldest brother, discouragement by King Saul, and disdain by the giant named Goliath.  The giant was cursing the army of Israel as well as their God.   David couldn’t believe that someone had not raised up and dealt with the bully.  David had killed a bear and a lion.  He was not afraid of this giant.  There was a reason, a cause if you please, for David to be there that day.   Is there a reason, a cause for you to be where you are today?  Sure there is!  There are giants in the world that still need to be defeated.   Many are discouraged.   Many are depressed.  Still others are living in unbelief and defeat.  You and I have a purpose in life.
May the Lord help us to let our light shine.  We must not run from the battle, but to the battle!  There is a battle raging for men’s souls.  Are you involved in the fight?  Are you equipped with the Armour of God?  Are you familiar with the sword of the Spirit,  which is the word of God.  Perhaps there are giants in your own life that need to be defeated.   There is a cause, because there is the Christ.  May the Lord help us this day, like David, to be instrumental in defeating the giants.  After all, there still is a cause!  Amen.  Pastor
