Misplaced Faith…

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.  And then… Isaiah 31:1  Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!  These verses exhort us to trust in the Lord.   America has a strong military.  Personally,  I believe that is a great thing.   What would be a horrible thing would be to put our trust in man and his machinery!  Over and over in the Bible we see Gods people coming out on top. not necessarily because they were stronger or more talented, but rather because the God of heaven was on their side!  Greater is He that is in us!  Trust in the Lord, lean not to your own understanding.   May the Lord help us to never ever forget,  faith pleases God and faith protects his people.   It is foolish to trust man and his methods. Consider… Jeremiah 17:5  Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Lord, help us as we approach independence day, to depend on you.  Help us to realize we truly are one nation, under God.
In God we trust. Amen.  Pastor
