Independence Day!

Galatians 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.  America! There’s not another place on earth I’d rather live!  Before I was saved, I lived in a free society,  but lived in bondage to sin.  Our society in many ways has lost its way.  People believe they are free to destroy another’s property.  Free to destroy and desicrate our flag.  Free to loot and steal.  Free to take the life of the unborn. Free to marry outside of God’s plan.  On and on we could go.  This is not the truth taught in scripture.  Jesus set us free, not so we could sin, but so we could serve!  Would to God we could get back to the attitude portrayed in John F Kennedys speech… Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.  What a profound idea!  As we celebrate 249 years of freedom and independence,  may we never forget the price that was paid.  Men and women gave their lives.  Families were forever changed.  Our soldiers were mamed both physically and mentally.   All so we could be free. Let’s take a moment to thank God for America and for those in the armed forces.  We do not know them all, but we do owe them all!  Most of all the songwriter said… Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow!  Red, white, and blue. Red… the blood that was shed. White … the righteousness that is offered…
Blue… the Glory that awaits God’s children.  Happy 4th! Never Forget! Amen.  Pastor
