2 Peter 1:5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  It seems that so many trust Jesus and stop there.  They don’t realize that getting saved is just the beginning.  Now the Lord desires that we ADD to our faith.  Think of it like this… Jesus is the foundation for the believer.  The foundation is generally beneath the earth, out of sight.  We are to BUILD on the foundation.  Jude 1:20  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,  I remember well using Lincoln logs when I was a child.  It was exciting to add log after log and build something to have Mom and Dad to see!  Then comes  brother to tear down!  The Lord surely wants us to build on the foundation… add to our faith.  This is where the evidence of faith can be seen by others!  Consider the list of building blocks given by Peter… Virtue, knowledge,  temperance, patience,  godliness,  brotherly kindness, and charity.  When these traits  are present in our lives we will never be barren or unfruitful.
Just as certain as our Lord wants us to add these things in our lives,  the enemy will try to hinder every step of the way.
But… If God be for us, who can be against us!  Keep adding youngins,  and when the battles over we shall have a crown to lay at the Masters feet!  Amen.  Pastor
