Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. About once or twice a year I have the opportunity to go fishing with my son. He has a real nice boat, and some real nice equipment to fish with. Every once in a while, the hook on the end of the line will get hung up on something. Usually a rock or some brush beneath the surface. There are several maneuvers you can attempt to get it loose. If all else fails, it’s time to hold the pole straight with the line and allow the line to break. If this is not done, you run the risk of breaking an expensive fishing pole. In life, there are some things that come into our lives that we need to break free from. Our Lord is telling us to cast that burden upon Him! I’ve watched my son with precision cast his bait into a spot where he thinks a bass might be waiting. As believers we need to learn there is a spot to cast our burdens. The spot is the Savior. We make a monumental mistake when we think our Lord cares about our soul and the big things in life, but does not care about the burdens we bear each and every day. Don’t get hung up on that burden. Cast it upon the Lord. He’s there to help you every step of the way.
Amen. Pastor
