John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; When an individual trusts Christ, immediately there will be a struggle that begins between the new man and the old man. The one that wins in this struggle will be determined by which one is fed and which one is starved. When we neglect our Bible, our prayer time, and become complacent about our church attendance, we are starving the new man. That man is in Christ. When we allow our eyes, our minds, and our feet to take us toward ungodly influences, we are feeding the old man. Remember, the above verse tells us that the comforter, the blessed Holy Spirit, moved into the believers’ life to ABIDE FOREVER! He’s there in every person who is born again. He can be grieved, He can be quenched, but He didn’t move in for a visit, He’s in that heart to stay! So… the question is this… do you want to be blessed? Do you want to be a blessing? If so, get in your Bible, get on your knees and feed the new man! Stay out of those situations that feed the natural man, grieving the precious Holy Spirit in the process. It’s really not rocket science… what so ever he saith to you DO IT! Our Bible instructs us on WHAT TO DO, as well as what NOT TO DO! When you accept Christ, you have a new roommate. Do your best to please Him and you will find joy unspeakable and full of glory! Amen. Pastor
