Isaiah 50:6-7 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. These verses are prophetic concerning Jesus and His suffering at Calvary. Can you imagine the pain, both physically and emotionally? When the prophecy mentions that he set His face like a flint it was speaking of our Lord’s determination. He gave His “back to those who struck Him”
He gave His “cheeks to those who pluck out the beard”
He did not cover His “face from humiliation and spitting.”
Because the Servant trusts the Lord GOD completely, therefore He is resolved like flint to follow and obey the Lord GOD no matter what. Are we that determined? No matter what we should love Him, obey Him, and follow Him! Amen. Pastor
