1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. There are two kinds of sorrow in the world… sorrow of those who are Bible believers, and sorrow of those who are not. The believer does sorrow, but with a much different perspective than the unbeliever. The unbeliever likely will blame God or others for their sorrow. The believer understands that it is sin that brought sorrow into the world, and it is sin that is to blame! Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
I remember well being in the room where my father passed away. All I could do for twenty minutes or so is weep and repeat the word “daddy.” About that time the blessed Holy Spirit came to comfort me. He reminded me that daddy was now home, in the very presence of Jesus. I was sorrowing, but not as others which have no hope. I know where my dad is, and I shall see him again soon in a land that is fairer than day!
Sorrow in the light of scripture is supported by a blessed hope.
Jesus is coming! When He does, we’ll see even more clearly His perfect plan. Amen. Pastor
