2 Chronicles 32:8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezakiah king of Judah. Have you learned that the arm of flesh will fail you? Our Lord never intended for His people to have confidence in the flesh. Listen to Paul… Philippians 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
It is evident to me that even good men, like Hezakiah, Abraham, David, John the Baptist, and Peter just for a few examples, have had lapses in their faith. These examples are written for our admonition, that we may learn to trust the Lord in every circumstance of life. May I say from experience that that’s a very tall order! We are so prone to take our eyes off of the instrument panel and look at the storm instead of looking for Jesus in the midst of the storm. Hopefully, the life of Hezakiah has taught us this truth. We can operate by faith, in so doing please the Savior who gave His life, that we might live! Remember, this could be the day the plane lands, on Heavens bright shore! We shall see Him as He is! No more need then for faith, we’ll be at home with the pilot. After all, in the end, we will realize regardless of our situation here in this life, we made the last flight in first class! Amen. Pastor
