Ecclesiastes 2:26.  For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up,
There are two different kinds of men represented in our text…
A good man, and a sinner man.
Outside of Jesus and the salvation He offers,  there is none good, no not one.  But consider this text… Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.  God gives to the good man WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, and JOY!  Wisdom to know what’s right, the knowledge of how to do what’s right, and joy unspeakable that comes from doing that which is right in the sight of the Lord.   This wisdom, knowledge, and joy is a gift from God!  James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  Truly the gift of God is eternal life and that’s just the beginning!  Our Father in Heaven just keeps on giving and giving!  Oh how He loves us!  Now our God does not only give to His children,  He gives to the sinner as well.  The sinner is facing a heap of trouble.  Travail, heaped up, is awaiting the lost sinner.  The Lord Jesus suffered travail on the cross so mankind could escape the wrath of God.  Consider… Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied:   When God the Father saw the travail in the suffering of His Son the righteous demand of almighty God was satisfied.   It is my prayer you will not have this travail heaped upon you.  After all, Jesus has already suffered for us,  the just for the unjust.  Have you received the Lords gift of wisdom,  knowledge,  and joy?  That gift will help you in this world, to be more like Jesus, and  In eternity to be just like Jesus.   Amen.  Pastor
