The God that works on both ends…

Acts 9:11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth.  In reading the first 21 verses of Acts chapter 9 something becomes apparent.
God is working in the heart of Saul on the Damascus road, and at the same time He is working in the heart of Ananias in the house of Judas.  Please read the entire text, it paints an amazing picture.  Verse 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:  Here Ananias is in as much saying… Lord, are you sure about this?
Many times our Lord will place someone on our heart.  Sometimes,  as did Ananias, we may ask… Lord, are you sure about this?  Countless times in my life I have found when we are obeying the voice of the Lord we are likely to find the Spirit that prompted our heart to be working  on the other end where we have been sent.  Once, while pastoring my first church the Lord prompted me to make a visit.  It required me to stop what I was doing, and go.  When I got in the car ole slewfoot whispered… it’s 2:00
They’re probably not even home.  I remember thinking, you may be right devil, but God said go, so I’m going.  To my surprise the man answered the door and invited me in.  It was their anniversary, and they both worked for the same company that awarded them the day off!
He said… “Pastor, we’ve been sitting here talking all morning,  we need something.”   No, they needed someone!  His name is Jesus!  They both trusted the Lord at a coffee table turned into an altar.  Don’t you see, God was working on both ends!    I could tell story after story. To God be the Glory!  When our Lord is prompting, remember this, there’s a good chance He’s prompting on the other end as well!  Ask Paul and Ananias!  Amen.  Pastor.  PS… He’s sure about this!
