God so loved…

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  The word commendeth in our text means… To show, to prove, to establish, to exhibit.
Our Lord did not only say He loved us,  He proved it on a mountain called Calvary!
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Read these lyrics slowly and  deliberately,  allow these words minister to your heart today…
He left the Splendor of Heaven
Knowing His destiny, Was the lonely hill of Golgotha, there to lay down His life for me.  If that isn’t love, the ocean is dry
there’s no stars in the sky, and the sparrow can’t fly, if that isn’t love, then Heavens a myth,
there’s no feeling like this, if that isn’t love.  Even in death He remembered the thief hanging by His side. He spoke with love and compassion, then He took him to Paradise.  There’s no feeling like this, if that isn’t love.
There will be attempts to exhibit love on this Valentines Day.  Perhaps this would be the best way…  1 John 4:10-11 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  God so loved,  when he abides in us, we too can love.  Real love does not stem from the mushy, but rather from the master!  Amen.   Pastor
