I’m Amazed! Pt 1…

Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:  In our text the word astonied means to be shocked, startled, or amazed.  This verse is referring to what happened to Jesus at Calvary.  If, somehow, by faith, we could walk up to the cross and see our Lord hanging there, I can’t help but believe we would be astonied too!  Amazed at the bloodshed. Bleeding profusely from His back, His hands, His feet, and His head.  Amazed.  How can it be?  The one that never sinned, the one that always pleased the Father, the one that went about doing good, is now hanging on a tree.  I hear Him say… Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.   I hear Him say… My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?  How could God love me, knowing the way I’ve lived?  How could He give His only begotten Son to die for me?  Yes, I’m Amazed!
His shed blood would make it possible for my filthy sin to be washed away.  I’m Amazed!  He was forsaken by His Father for time,  so I could be with Him and the Father for eternity.  I’m Amazed!  At Calvary, he would purchase eternal redemption for WHOSOEVER WILL.  When the child of God ceases to be amazed at the events that took place at Calvary, he is in need of a fresh stirring in his Spirit.
Can you honestly recall the last time you were amazed?
Oh wonder of wonders
Oh how could it be that
God became flesh and was given for me,
the Almighty came down and walked amoung men ,
the wonder of wonders
He died for my sins.  I’m still AMAZED!  You?  Amen. Pastor
