Look up!…

Isaiah 6:1  In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.  When I was a teenager… many moons ago… my friends and I would occasionally go to the mall.  One of us would stand and look up toward the ceiling while the others observed from a distance.  People would walk by and inevitably look up to see what we were looking at!  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone would read Isaiah 6:1 and look up to see the same Lord that he saw.  The first five chapters in Isaiah’s writings are consumed with the wrongs of Israel.  When Isaiah sees the Lord, things change.  A good look at the Savior would cause us to acknowledge our own sin… Woe is me, Isaiah cried.  Not only did the upward look cause his outlook on SIN to change, but it also caused his outlook on SERVICE to change!  Our Lord asked a question… Isaiah 6:8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Notice his response… Then said I, Here am I; send me. If we would but look up, we would see the need in our day for laborers.  The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few.  Will you GROW, will you GLOW, will you GO, and will you SOW?  The gospel still works.  If you have the time… Ask me how I know!  Amen.
