Psalm 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.  I have learned by experience… anger is something that will either be brought under control, or it will control you!
There’s only one way that I know of to nip it in the bud, that is to walk with the Lord in such a way that He is the one in control of our lives.  That is exactly what it means to be spirit filled.   When we get saved we get all of the Holy Spirit we will ever get.  The rest of journey is not about getting more of Him, but rather Him getting more of us.  The songwriter said.    “More, more, about Jesus,  more, more, about Jesus,  more of His saving fullness see, more of His love who died for me.”  Oh, to be more like our blessed Lord.   There is an anger that is ungodly.
There is also a righteous anger.  Jesus exhibibited at times a righteous anger.  When He entered the temple and found the house of prayer had become a house of merchandise He drove them out of the temple after overthrowing the tables.  Scripture tells us to be angry and sin not.  I’m afraid most of the anger in our society is not righteous anger, rather a selfish anger.
When you are tempted to give someone a piece of your mind, slow down, allow the Lord to NIP IT IN THE BUD!
And remember,  when you are giving another a piece of your mind, you’re the one losing ground!  Amen.  Pastor
