1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  Some people expect that when an individual says they are a Christian they should live perfect.   There are times when the person that is saved commits some sin and they find themselves shocked that this could happen.  The devil immediately jumps up on their shoulder and begins to whisper in their ear… See, you didn’t really get saved, look at what you’ve done.  Please remember that the devil is a liar.  God’s people are not perfect,  but they are forgiven!  They are not sinless, but they do sin less!  Those who understand these truths can remain faithful,  even though they recognize God’s children are not flawless.  We will mess up, even after trusting Jesus!  When we do, it is important to know and believe God’s remedy.  We are told if we confess our sin, our Lord is faithful and just to forgive us!  Our ability to remain faithful hinges on our understanding of our Lord’s faithfulness.   We have looked at  our Lord’s faithfulness AFTER we have messed up, let’s consider now His faithfulness BEFORE we mess up.  Consider please… 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  This verse tells us that in any given situation that God is faithful to provide an off ramp!  Someone said the devil made me do it.  That’s a lie!  Have you ever been driving down the road and missed the exit?  Perhaps you were deep in thought or distracted.  When tempted to sin, remember God promised an exit ramp, take the exit! We are not flawless, but we can remain faithful!   Concentrate on the faithfulness of God, it will help you to be faithful to Him.  Amen.  Pastor
