Standing in the Way of Sinners…

Psalm 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  To stand in the way of sinners is to company with them, walk where they walk, talk like they talk.  The Holy Spirit lives in every born again believer.  When we yoke up and participate with those who know not Jesus we grieve the Lord.  Most of the time we will find ourselves being dragged further from our fellowship with the Lord Jesus.   Years ago I made a statement and have repeated it many times since. “The crowd you run with will determine the course your life takes.”  If we want the Lord’s blessings on our lives we must be careful to stand in the ways of a Christian,  not in the way of sinners.  Jesus understands that we are in the world, but we are not of the world.  There should be some places we refuse to go, some things we refuse to say, some things we refuse to see, as well as some people we refuse to hang around.  Why? Because these things hinder our testimony and our walk with God.  Consider please… 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  I realize to some, this may seem radical.  Just remember this… everything in this world will one day go up in smoke.  How are those around us going to know the Lord if we are seen as no different than they are?  We are told in the book of Jude… And of some have compassion,  making a difference,  others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire.  How can we make a difference in the lives of others unless we are different ourselves?  Not acting like some Holy Joe, but a new creature in Christ Jesus.  Some will hate you for your stand for the Lord now, but if they ever come to know the Lord they will love you for your stand later.  Do you know Jesus?  Then stand in His way, not in the way of sinners.  Amen.  Pastor
