The Power of Influence…

Psalm 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  In this world we live in there are many influences, both good and bad.
Those who desire the blessings of God upon their life must learn to IDENTIFY those influences.
Here are some ways  to identify bad influences. Ask yourself: Does this person, movie, or song help me in my love for God, his service, and others? Does this influence help me to honor God? If not, then they are bad influences. The Bible is clear about what to do with bad influences.   It’s not always easy, but we must ELIMINATE the bad influences that drag us down and away from God’s glory.  You and I  need to rethink some of the movies we watch and the tv shows we watch, and even the things we listen to.  This may sound a little out of step with the norm but may I remind you God’s people are supposed to be out of step with this world.  We cannot be in step with the Word if we are not willing to be out of step with the world!  This might sound a little extreme, but listen to this verse… 1 Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:  When we avoid those bad influences and find company with good influences, it will result in the blessings of right living and praise to our God.
Once we have identified and eliminated the bad influences,  it is imperative that we SEEK OUT those influences that will help, rather than hinder our walk with God.  We’re living today in a world of social media influencers.   God’s people must be careful to pay more attention to the scripture media rather than the social media.  Many are being led astray by the pervasive ungodliness all around us.  IT’S A TRAP!  Please
don’t fall for it.  Someone once said… “The person who refuses to stand for something,  will fall for anything!”  Take your stand, honor God and He will honor you.  Amen.  Pastor
