Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Notice that our Lord never instructed us to keep ourselves in perfect peace, but rather to trust in Him, for He’s the only one who can do such a thing! In the book of Jude we find these words… keep yourselves in the Love of God. Now there is our responsibility!
The way to accomplish this is found in our verse… whose mind is stayed on thee! Think for a moment about WHO He is.
He is our Lord! Then meditate on WHAT He’s done. He gave His life on Calvary’s tree! Then let your mind be consumed with WHAT He’s doing! He is sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you and me! One more thing, how about concentrating on WHAT He’s gonna do! He’s coming back!
He’s gonna take us HOME! Heaven, where there will be no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death, no more curse! Perhaps today! What a day, glorious day that will be! We lose our peace when we turn our eyes away from our Lord. Remember Peter? He did fine walking on the water until he became distracted by the storm! It truly is our choice, we can be consumed by the storm, or we can be comforted by the Savior.
The latter will result in perfect peace. Amen. Pastor
