Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. Waiting is not always easy.
There was a critical time in my life when I was between pastorates that God required me to wait. It seemed that often when I opened my Bible the Lord pointed to the word WAIT! Eight long months I waited and my Lord came through! Bless His name! Waiting on the Lord is an act of worship. It is saying like Moses said to the Lord… ” If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” It is admitting our need for direction, for strength, and for His presence in our lives. It’s easy to get ahead of God, it’s also easy to lag behind. The key is waiting til God says move and knowing He is leading the way. David learned to wait on the Lord. Some lessons are learned the hard way. Examine some precious benefits that can only come as we wait upon the Lord.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. The weak and weary will benefit from waiting by receiving strength. A young preacher full of zeal said… “I’d rather wear out than rust out!” He sat down beside an old preacher who leaned over and said… “What you need to remember son is this, either way you’re out!”
Our enemy wants us out of the race. We may well be out, if we don’t learn to wait. Amen. Pastor
