Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Many years ago, in the land of Uz, God had a wonderful servant named Job. Job feared God, prayed for his family, and stayed away from evil. Satan was convinced that if God would let down the hedge of protection around Job that he could get Job to curse God. Wrong! Job lost his fortune, his children, and his health. His response was… The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord. Job’s wife even tried to get Job to curse God and die.
Job’s friends were not much comfort either. The true servant of the Lord will continue to trust the Lord even in very difficult circumstances. The bible tells us that God blessed the latter end of Job more than the beginning. There is one thing God’s people must strive to remember, the best is yet to come for His children! No more curse, no more death, no more pain. The suffering in this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us. Consider Job, then consider Jesus. No one ever suffered like Him. Amen. Pastor
