A Mother’s Unfeigned Faith…

2 Timothy 1:5  When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
The word unfeigned in scripture means… undisguised, sincere, without hypocrisy.  A mother with this kind of faith is unashamed of her Lord, and sincere in her efforts to raise her children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.  The world needs more moms with the same kind of faith that Timothy’s mother and grandmother exhibited.  Where does this genuine faith come from?  It comes from hearing the precious word of God!  There is nothing that pleases God more than for a mom to trust the Lord and in turn teach her children to do the same.   In today’s society the role of a mother is downplayed.   Christian mother, don’t ever listen to society, stay in tune with the Savior!  Yours is a very important role!  Your children need you.  Your church needs you.  Your country needs you.
In “Bits and Pieces” we find the following illustration… A little boy forgot his lines in a Sunday school presentation. His mother was in the front row to prompt him. She gestured and formed the words silently with her lips, but it did not help. Her son’s memory was blank. Finally, she leaned forward and whispered the cue, “I am the light of the world.” The child beamed and with great feeling and a loud clear voice said, “My mother is the light of the world.”  Mom, we know Jesus is the light of the world, but He wants you to be the light in your home.  Be like Lois and Eunice, have unfeigned faith, there may be a Timothy in your midst!  Amen.  Pastor
